July 10, 2007 Virginia Beach, Virginia— Farewell to bland doctor’s offices, drive-through massage centers and pack ‘em in yoga classes. Debuting this week in Virginia Beach, Nimmo Wellness elevates holistic care to an entirely new level. Director and local chiropractor Dr. Derek D. Russell has collectively united chiropractic care, a private yoga studio, a contemporary art gallery and a massage center under one roof. Nimmo Wellness is located near the Princess Anne Recreation Center at 2125 McComas Way Suite 101 in Virginia Beach. Serving beyond the boundaries of the Princess Anne/Red Mill corridor, Nimmo Wellness is on track to provide soltions for natural healthcare and fitness. The idea behind opening a wellness center stemmed from an episode of ABC’s hit television sitcom Grey’s Anatomy, when “Addison” took a leave of absence to visit friends in Los Angeles, a couple who work at the Oceanside Wellness Group. Explains Russell, “The concept of having multiple practices in one space seems very ‘California,’ and yet a great fit for this area too.” Russell became inspired. "It’s always been my dream to create a patient care office with top notch service, multiple amenities emphasizing health and a drug-free lifestyle, yet also has an emphasis on both décor and atmosphere." Dr. Russell and staff members from the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia collaborated on the office design. Nimmo Wellness offers a modern, contemporary lobby. The walls are filled with eclectic artworks from award-winning artist Carlton Abbott. More regional artists are expected to showcase their work throughout the year. Dr. Russell’s chiropractic practice opens this week. Massage is scheduled to begin July 20th. The yoga studio will be complete August 1st. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for early September. For more information, visit NimmoWellness.com or call 757.427.7690.
